Digital system top-down design and analysis will be presented. Topics include timing, power and performance issues in digital circuits, Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL)-based system analysis and synthesis, hardware-software co-design, data-flow models, and digital system primitives. This course includes experience with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) based project implementations.
