BIOL 667 - Animal Physiology

This course will provide students with an understanding of the current state of animal physiology at the level of the whole organism and its component organs and organ system. Emphasis will be placed on function as it relates to survival of organisms in natural environments and on the regulation of homeostatic mechanisms. Topics would include metabolism, temperature regulation, reproductive mechanisms, circulation, gaseous exchange, nutrient processing osmoregulation and ionic balance.

Prerequisite(s): Biology 160 and 462 (please see undergraduate catalog).
