GEOM 612 - Applied Geospatial Method Analysis

The application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) methods and the use of related technologies such as Global Positioning System (GPS) in conjunction with commercially available, public domain and other digital data will be used in solving water resources engineering problems and in providing decision support. Topics include acquisition of spatial data including GPS, the use of topology in GIS, digital elevation models (DEM), and the derivation of DEMs from remote sensing data.

Prerequisite(s): CIEN 366, GEOM 310, 320.
