Double Degree Pathwayt: Master of Science in Agricultural and Environmental Systems – Concentration: Agribusiness and Food Industry Management and Master of Business Administration (MS/MBA Double Degree Pathway)

The MS/MBA Double Degree Pathway at North Carolina A&T State University is an interdisciplinary graduate program designed to prepare students for leadership roles at the intersection of agriculture, environmental systems, and business management. Offered as a collaborative initiative between the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES) and the Willie Deese College of Business and Economics (COBE), this program provides students with an integrated curriculum that enhances technical expertise in agribusiness, food industry management, and sustainability while also developing advanced business and strategic management skills.

Program Overview:

This 45-credit hour double-degree program enables students to simultaneously earn a Master of Science (MS) in Agricultural and Environmental Systems with a concentration in Agribusiness and Food Industry Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). The program is designed to equip graduates with a competitive edge in industries that demand expertise in both agricultural systems and business leadership.

  • Dual-Credit Courses: Certain courses fulfill requirements for both degrees, allowing students to complete the program efficiently within two years.

Students must first meet the specific admission requirements for each degree program as outlined in their respective sections of the Graduate Catalog.

Pathway Core Courses (15 Credits Hours):

All students enrolled in the 45-Hour Double Degree Pathway will complete the following core courses:

  • AGRI 604 - Experimental Methods in Research or ABM 705 - Statistical Methods for Agribusiness
  • ECON 708 - Managerial Economics
  • MGMT 785 - Practicum or Internship
  • ABM 796 - Master’s Project
  • ABM 825 - Research Methods in Agribusiness


Requirements for the Master of Science - Agricultural and Environmental Systems - Concentration:  Agribusiness and Food Industry Management (9 credit hours) -

  • Students will select with advisor approval, nine hours of graduate level ABM Courses, 600 - 700 level. 

Requirements for Master of Business Administration (21 credit hours) -

Students will take the following 21 credit hours of MBA courses:
