The MS program in Criminal Justice presents both advanced instruction and opportunities for independent research and practical application. Graduates from the MS program typically find employment as university faculty, practitioners, or career advancement. Earning a MS degree requires
initiative and responsibility, and the student is expected to gain a higher level of expertise in a specialized area of the field.


Additional Admission Requirements
• Applicants for the MS in Criminal Justice program must have a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or
Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree from a Regionally Accredited college or University and a
cumulative bachelor’s program GPA of 2.8.
• GRE test scores.


Program Outcomes
• Graduates of the MS program will exhibit effective communication skills (written and oral)
appropriate for professionals in criminal justice-related fields.
• Graduates will effectively use quantitative and/or qualitative analytical problem-solving skills in
criminal justice and criminal justice-related fields.
• Graduates will develop a comprehensive understanding of the social, political, cultural, and ethical
issues related to the governing of crime and criminal justice processes and outcomes.
• Graduates will demonstrate the ability to examine, design, and advance police technologies
appropriate for professionals in criminal justice• and criminal justice-related fields.
