1 Students must take a course from the approved Knowledge of African American History and Culture General Education course list other than any HIST courses applied toward the major (may take HIST 103).

2Students must take course from the approved Mathematical, Logical & Analytical Reasoning (MLAR) Electives General Education course list and should discuss options with their adviser.

3Students must take course from the approved Humanities/Fine Arts (HFA) Electives General Education course list and should discuss options with their adviser.

4 Students must take a course from the approved Social and Behavioral Sciences General Education course list other than any HIST courses applied toward the major (may take HIST 130, HIST 216, HIST 231).

5 Students must take a course from the approved Global Awareness General Education course list other than any HIST courses applied to the major (may take HIST 130, HIST 216, HIST 231).

6Students must take course from the Scientific Reasoning (SR) Non-Lab General Education course list and should discuss options with their adviser.

7 18 hrs. Must take THREE HOURS in EACH of the following SIX areas: US, African American, Latin American, European, Asian, and African (not including any required history courses).

812 hrs. Students may take any Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or Anthropology courses for which they meet the prerequisites.

913 hrs. Students may take any courses offered at the University for which they meet the prerequisites.

10 Students must take 6 credit hours of the same language.
