With increasing globalization in our world, competency in a second language can be a key factor in the successful attainment of a position in business, education, public relations commerce, or government. The department offers a minor in Spanish to meet this need. A total of 18 hours is required for the Spanish minor, and each course must be completed with a grade of “C” or better. Note: The Minor is to be pursued in an area apart from the student’s major. Students must successfully complete eighteen (18) semester hours in Spanish courses. All of the eighteen semester hours must be in courses at the 200-level or above. A student must complete at least twenty-four (24) academic credit hours before declaring a minor and must have a GPA of 2.0. A student may not have more than two minors. The minor will be printed on the student's transcript but not on the student's diploma. Students must complete the courses on the curriculum. No substitutions will be allowed.
