Program Sequencing Changes:
4. Change the curriculum guide to have students take MATH 341: Differential Equations in the 4th semester, instead of the 5th, and have students take Phys 242/252: General Physics II/General Physics II Laboratory in the 5th semester instead of the 4th. The rationale behind this change is to help better prepare students for MEEN 316: Fluid Mechanics, currently taught in the 5th semester. While MATH 341 is not a formal prerequisite for MEEN 316, taking MATH 341 will help better prepare students for MEEN 316. This change was suggested by the evaluator during the previous accreditation visit.

5. Swapping MATH 341 with PHYS 242/252, creates an unbalanced number of credits in semesters 4 and 5. To rebalance the student work load, we propose moving the one credit MEEN 267: Mechanics of Materials Lab from Semester 5 to Semester 4. An additional benefit of this change is that aligns the lab course (MEEN 267) with its associated lecture course (MEEN 232: Strength of Materials).
(Note that none of these sequencing changes involve changing the prerequisites for any of the courses involved.)
