The focus of this course will be on lettering and typography as a medium of visual expression. It will also focus on type as image and the relationship between graphical and verbal language, the expressive characteristics of letterforms and text. Additionally, the terminology, typographic history, and technical issues related to lettering and typography will be discussed.
