When Offered: F, S

3 Credit(s)
3 Lecture Hour(s)
0 Lab Hour(s)

Biomechanics encompasses the mechanics of the human body all the way to the cellular and molecular levels. This course covers the application of solid mechanics to describe the mechanical behavior of organs, soft biological tissues, and cells. The course introduces at the undergraduate level fundamental concepts and techniques of mechanics (e.g. stress, strain, constitutive relations), and of the structure and composition of tissues and cells.

Prerequisite(s): Senior standing or consent of instructor.
