This course examines the provisions of the United States Constitution that protect the due process rights of citizens accused of criminal acts, the rules of procedure that govern the criminal justice process from arrest through trial and sentencing, and the methods of imposing liability on criminal justice professionals for violations of constitutional and other legal rights granted citizens.
