This course is an introduction to digital and data communications. The fundamental theory and applications of modem communication systems are discussed, including a general overview of the data communications area, telephone systems, channel coding, concept of data link protocols, interface standard, modems, multiplexing, multiple access and ISDN.

Prerequisite(s): ECEN 356 and ECEN 400.
