This course examines the poetry, short stories, and novels of significant Black women writers from the 20th century to the present. Focus will be given to the literary and historical elements which reflect the African-American woman’s experience as well as her place within and contribution to the African-American literary tradition.

Prerequisite(s): ENGL 101. This course is open to non-majors.
