LIBS 242 - The Political Economy of African Americans

This course is an analytical examination of how political and economic forces interact to influence African American wealth. The course examines traditional African American products (i.e. music as a commodity) possessing a user or a value and an objective of production (possessing an exchange-value). Current political and economic trends will be juxtaposed with historical expropriations and exploitations.
