Agribusiness and Food Industry Management Minor

Students who complete a minor in Agribusiness and Food Industry Management acquire knowledge and understanding to prepare students for careers in management, business in agribusiness, and food industries as well as careers in non-agricultural firms. The courses in the curriculum are designed to provide students with an understanding of business functions in application, theory, and practice as they pertain to the interdisciplinary nature of agriculture. It emphasizes local food production and marketing in response to changing global parameters for sustainability; community and economic development that recognizes the importance of a 
healthy environment.

Requirements

An average GPA of 2.0 or higher must be achieved for the courses within the minor.
At least one-half (1/2) of the minor credits must be taken at North Carolina A&T State University.
A student must complete at least 24 hours of academic credits before declaring a minor and must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Students who are working on a bachelor’s degree have the option to enroll in a program leading to a minor (or minors) provided: (1) the minor field is different from the major field; (2) the student meets the requirements for acceptance into the minor program; and (3) the appropriate application for admission or the “Change of Major/Minor” form is approved and filed at the Office of the Registrar.
A minor in this content area requires a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours not included in the baccalaureate degree plan of study at the 200-level
