BIOL 459 - Cell and Molecular Mechanisms of Cancer When Offered: F, S, SS

This course is an introduction to the cellular and molecular aspects of cancer biology in humans. This course will integrate basic scientific findings with clinical situations, emphasizing the importance of basic research in understanding and combating cancer. Laboratory exercises will provide an introduction to classical and innovative cell signaling techniques. In addition to wet-lab exercises, novel case studies will be incorporated in order to strengthen critical thinking skills.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 301 or BIOL 366 or BIOL 305 is required.
