1This course fulfills the University’s general education requirement. If course is not specified, see the General Education course list for course options and discuss with your advisor.
2General education requires 12 credit hours in the following areas: 3 hours in humanities and fine arts, 3 hours in social and behavioral sciences, 3 hours in global learning and 3 hours in African-American studies from the General Education course list. See your advisor to ensure you meet these hours.
3The Grammar Proficiency Exam is a pre and post assessment tool administered to students enrolled in JOMC 102  and again to students enrolled in JOMC 220  courses.
4Two levels of the same foreign language are required.

6ACEJMC accreditation requires 72 credit hours outside the major.
7Consult the University Bulletin for Practicum requirements. Volunteers are encouraged to work in labs.
8Must take JOMC 492 - Mass Communication Professional Development Seminar (formerly JOMC 591)  the semester prior to enrolling in JOMC 498 .
JOMC 492  Prerequisites for Public Relations: Grammar Proficiency Exam, JOMC 220 , JOMC 224 , JOMC 276 , JOMC 330 , *JOMC 386 , JOMC 390  (*May be enrolled).
9Scientific Reasoning Elective: Must have 7 credit hours in the scientific reasoning with one lab hour (see the General Education course list for course options).
10Select from any courses under the following English Department subheadings: African-American Literature, Literature, or Women Writers and Women in Literature.
11JOMC Electives must be discussed with advisor.
