This is a course which emphasizes basic principles and important theoretical concepts of chemistry. Topics will include atomic structure, electronic configuration, the wave mechanical model of the atom, chemical bonding, states of matter, chemical equilibria, systems of acids and bases, and electrochemistry.
Prerequisite(s): 2 units of high school algebra or equivalent, and 1 unit of high school chemistry or CHEM 103 . Corequisite(s): CHEM 116 .
